The valorisation project of the Quarry Fantasia gets in its shape day by day. After a meticulous removal of graffiti from the rocks, the conceptual project of the museum program has been completed, along with the interior design project.

The association FARO11 developed a museum concept with the design project for the geological park Quarry Fantazija, whereas Kora Studio has designed the exteriors of containers to be installed as part of the geological park. According to the main project, five containers shall be set up, to be used as info point, sanitary facilities, and exhibition space.

The general goal of the project is to help improve the competitiveness of the tourist offer by valorising the natural heritage in the area of the city of Rovinj-Rovigno, activating an unused natural heritage with the scope of creating new tourist offer and experience.

The Quarry Fantazija has a status of a geological monument since 1986 and represents a unique example of limestone sedimentology and one of the most important and interesting quarries in the world.”

The organisation of the quarry Fantazija is part of the project “geoIST3A – Valorisation of Natural Heritage in the County of Istria by Improving the Competitiveness of the Tourist Offer” implemented by the public institution “Natura Histrica” and financed through EU Funds.
