The overall aim of the Project is to help improve the competitiveness of the tourist offer through the valorisation of natural heritage of Novigrad, Rovinj, and Tar.

The project activates an unused natural heritage, with the scope of generating new tourist offer and experience.

The two sites representing protected areas of the ecological network Natura2000 in the western coastal area of Istria, the delta of the river Mirna and the Quarry Fantazija near Rovinj, will become a recognised venue for tourists, visitors, and students.

The Project will organise the geological park Quarry Fantazija in the area of the City of Rovinj, with the scope of promoting and valorising of this geological monument. The site has a status of a protected geological monument since 1987. However, although the site represents a unique example of limestone sedimentology and one of the most important and interesting quarries in the world, it was not adequately organised or valorised, until the Project. Through the implementation of Project activities, a framework for sustainable management of biodiversity of this area was established.
